Disaster strikes!

After high winds and torrential rain I came home last night to find part of the roof of my little Blue Cottage on the floor in the garden! The rain had been pouring in during the day whilst I was out and my lovely hardwood floor was totally awash with rainwater.

I e-mailed the company late last night & they came up from Suffolk straight away this morning - which I must say was good service - to make it water tight for the terrible weather expected over this weekend and the hatches are literally batoned down now until after the New Year.

I dispair of ever getting this place up and running. Fingers crossed I do one day!

The Cottage leaks!

Merry Xmas everyone from a very wet & dull Bolton.

We've had lots of rain recently in the Sunny North and this morning on inspection, there was a puddle of water inside the building. After quizzing several innocent animals, I realised the Blue Cottage has a leak. Great!

HSP Garden Buildings are coming back to redo the roof anyway as it looks a mess, which I suppose is what you get with an ex-display model which doesn't go back together as easily as it came apart, so they can sort out the leak at the same time.

One day this place will be up & running .............

The electric has arrived today!

The little Blue Cottage looks a bit miserable in this weather but once we get the heating & lighting on and personalise it, it will become more like home. Work can start in the New Year and you know what they say; big oaks from little acorns grow, so watch this space.........

Monday, 19th December 2011

Today the installation of the Blue Cottage in the garden was finally finished. Hurrah! It's really snowy and ever so cold so I'm expecting to get the convection heaters in there soon to warm the place up ready to get working on ideas. The house is so warm & inviting but I'm hoping to get the Blue Cottage equally so. Still, no pain no gain as they say.
